    1855 "FRANK IVES SCUDAMORE/CHIEF EXAMINER" HAND STAMP/1D PL.6 S.C.16 (SG21) RECONSTRUCTED BLOCK OF ELEVEN. Eleven examples from 1855 die 2 1d pl.6 S.C.16 (SG21) which originally comprised one multiple, now with much perf separation/reinforcement lettered MK ML NJ NK NL OJ OK OL PJ PK PL showing good to fine large part/complete strikes of the "Frank Ives Scudamore/Chief Examiner" hand stamp. Scudamore was a Post Office employee who at the time had responsibility for overstamping imperfect sheets or part thereof with his hand stamp before their destruction. He left the GPO under a cloud and died in Turkey some years later. Imperfections but a good piece. (Ref 112433).
